You are indeed correct, sir. I think the ring wraiths only weakness in the movie was that they were used too much! :) I think giving shadows and hints of things is better, but this is just a personal taste issue. If I remember, the hobbits only "see" the wraiths in the forest, Merry meets one in Bree (but this is extremely shadowy), then not again until weather top, though the wraiths existence is seen in acts against the dummies at the Prancing Pony and so on.... There were no chases or close encounters save the forest scene and then the fjord of bruinen
