Subject: Third party candidates.
In reply to: mt. healthy mountaineer 's message, "Third party candidates?" on 14:28:15 07/12/04 Mon

To say that 3rd party candidates have no chance of winning is just what the major parties want everyone to think. It is absolute balderdash. It is rhetorical, propagandistic rubbish. As long as people think this way and don't vote for third party candidates, then you can bet they won't win. This sort of thinking is so un-American and un-democratic that it smacks of either treason or complete and utter idiocy.

Taking a more pragmatic look at the Green movement, it must start at the grass roots level and work its way upward. A county seat here, a mayor there. We have not seen a likely President, because quite frankly, the Green's do not have enough of a base. Are they capable of achieving that base? Of course. Where there is a will there is a way.

I fear that the Greens do hurt the Democrats chances, yet this is just what Democracy is about; hurting the other party's chances! It is really quite ignorant of Medved to take such a stance. He is a boob.

Do you want my watered down opinion, or will this do?
