the site is called Hivelogic, and it can be found here:
http://www.hivelogic.com/safeaddress/

here's what the site says:
"While no solution can create an address impervious to harvesting, this web-based tool will encode your email address using Numerical Equivalents and wrap the result in JavaScript. The final product will be rendered correctly by your browser, but will be nearly-indecipherable by most email harvesting robots."

so it might help with the 'bots & spam, but I know some viruses spread by going thru the address book - aside from an antivirus program, I don't know what might help on that end.

I'd love to hear what else is out there if anyone has more ideas!
