For one, I generally try to put up photos of people in my school -- of course it's a school site, so that makes sense.

I also don't identify people in the picture by anything other than their first name. That's always been a thing with me.

As for people outside the school, I haven't had any problems with people saying "Hey, take that down." Maybe that means my photos are pretty boring, but it hasn't happened.

In the past I have worked with a number of news photographers and I don't think that they have to have a subject's permission to 1) take the photo or 2) transmit the photo (which means it often ends up on the web). Maybe non-commercial sites are different, but I wouldn't think that you have to have permission to post something like a photo of a crowd... or a line at a feis.
