Hi Everyone, I just wanted to appologise in advance for the fact that Dance Again may shut down for a while, it's the geocities bandwidth thing. I am not sure what will happen, with the plan I am on at the moment I get 20MB of bandwidth per month which in the past has been more than enough to keep it online all the time. However...this month I have had so many visitors, some days over 600! and I am just about up to my 20MB and still have 6 days of the month to go. I can pay extra for more bandwidth but this will cost me $5 per 500MB which is roughly per day! Plus $US5 is like $AU10 to me and I don't want to spend nearly $AU60 to keep the site going for only one week. Once it is October it starts again but I would hate to be offline until 1st October.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I can upgrade to the next level and get more bandwidth but this of course costs more and comes with all sorts of things that I will never use. The only thing I can do that I can think of to reduce the bandwidth used each time someone views each page is to reduce the number of photos on each page. Which means either 1.using thumbnails, which will be alot of extra work for me! or 2. restrict each dress ad to a maximum of two or three photos.
What do you think, any other ideas? As you know I am not the best with html and I like using the geocities page builder and would rather stay with it. Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can reduce the amount of bandwidth or whatever it is that is transfered each time someone views on of my pages?
