You should not have to "explain" your rates. Frankly, bonding and insurance do not define our service. We are professional pet sitters who guarantee excellent service. we are not the kid down the street or a friend of the family although some would like to "adopt" us. We provide house and pet care, retrieve mail and even water a plant or two. Show me a kennel that does that or even spends quaity time with any pets. For those who do not feel comfortable charging more they should read up on promoting ones business and spend more time developing a professional image so others will see you like that. IMO: If you are hauling kids to visits for whatever reason clients may not view your service in the best possible way, as a true pro. I do not want my clients to know that I am a desperate mom who'd rather bring my kid with me than think of hiring help, etc. That is tacky at best. How is anyone suppose to view your service as valuable enough to justify good pay? I do not wnat to be perceived as desperate or pitied but as a hard working professional in every sense of the word woman.
