Hi Susan,
I have not had to deal with this type of situation, but I have had clients ask what would happen if a disaster arose.
In my area it would most likely be an earthquake. All I can tell them is that I would do my best to care for all the pets as if they were my own. But let's face it, theres no way to predict what would happen in a terrible catastrophy. Hopefully we as sitters, would round up all our furry clients & secure them in a safe place, whether that is our home, at a kennel, vet, or whatever. It is however, the small tradgedys that most often plauge us, like the dissapearance or death of a pet on our watch. Both of which have happened to me just this week. (outdoor cat gone & snake died)I feel awful of course, but I don't feel either was my fault. Still I wish I could have done something differently that could have prevented either or both. In the end, all we can do is, do the best you can.
