Subject: Do you realize, that if your DD were to win, that it would cost you far more that your prize money to accompany her on the trip to the Bahamas or to Hawaii? Do you know that your daughter will be crammed into a room with all of the other "winners" and you will be on your own. That doesn't sound quality to me. Click in...
In reply to: 's message, "You are welcome to your opinion but honestly, you sound like a bad sport. Better prizes than trips to Hawaii and the Bahamas, $1,000 cash and college scholarships? I've never heard of it. Better food? Love the food and activities included with it. And my daughter and I have always been treated well and with respect." on 08:56:21 10/07/04 Thu

If you think that sounds fair, then you are not very open minded. When you consider the cost of air fare, hotel and a cruise....you are spending WAY more than your little $1,000 prize money will cover. And, as for the scholarships, where are they? Has that money actually been put into funds for scholarships? You should really try to find that out. But, on the other hand, if you are happy with Kids USA, don't even ask. I asked about my DD's scholarship money and where it was being held and I never even got a return phone call from JS or SS. After several phone calls and emails, with no response, I decided to leave and forget it all together. If they couldn't come up with an answer, they didn't have one and that is why I never heard from them. Anyway, a 3 or 4 year old system is not a reliable source for a college scholarship foundation. I would just prefer to go with a system that has actually paid out on scholarships for decades before I would go to a program that simply makes the claims. You would really be doing yourself a favor to jump off of the band wagon and really, truly educate yourself, for your children. I know that you think you are a part of the "family" and I know that you think that you know all there is to know about Kids USA, but you need to look beyond your emotions and get wise. I understand your emotions, but why do you think that so many past royalty girls are leaving the system. If your royalty isn't happy, there is a problem. Or maybe there isn't....maybe not being royalty is the key to happiness at Kids USA!!!!! Who has contacted the Cinderella State director and is leaving or has left your program????....
