    • Thanks for the website. It looks just right for us! I called the Director and she answered all of my questions without being pushy. She basically said come and watch a pageant and then decide as to whether it is right for us. Very sweet lady and I am impressed. I also asked if I could contact some of the other moms in her system and she said "Of course! Please do!" and she is connecting me with some in my daughter's division. And, besides, unlike you...good pageant moms don't bash other kids and would do everything they could to give their daughters a good image of pageants and what they are all about! I want my little girl to learn poise, confidence and most of all RESPECT for herself and others!   • The director held a 'mini-national' in Springfield in May. Tammy was very nice, BUT there were issues with re-used banners from another system, Big Lots $4 gifts and a scoring error that was on the master. Since it was a MO/IL 'mini-national', it's hard to understand how she can hold another state pageant. If I were considering entereing, I would contact LaGlenda the national director to discuss.   What do you do when someone gaurantees your product and they know you need it for a pageant and the product does not come in. The person tells you a story of why, but does not know when your product will be ready and you can not do pageants without the product.

  You know there comes a time when someone has to step up and say when something is wrong, and well basically that time is now. For grown adults to come onto this board and say such hanious and cruel things towards little kids and babies truly shows what kind of person they really are. Yes, maybe your child or friend didn't do as well as you might have planned, but that still gives you no right to come onto a board like this and tear apart any child. So whoever is out there bad mouthing these children atleast have the descency to come forth and say your real name so all the mothers and family members can know just who is talking so bad about their child, Or just stay behind your no name identity and make others feel horrible for no apparent reason.
  Oh and as far as the cliques or cults or whatever ridiculous things were said in contrast to the OLM inner circle goes. The OLM staff is some of the nicest people I have ever met,
  and you must have not even given them a chance because I know personally if you did than you would have been treated like family and nothing less!

  • Were you one of those that had a difficult time with the late competition of 3AM with the older girls? or just judging in general? I believe the judges were "local texans" but how trained they were - dunno..... This was a national pageant with hundreds of beautiful girls,all done in one day (Sat.) and crowning on (Sun.) Not enough time. On the upside, the winners loved their crowns and gifts.   • Dallas here, it turned out huge - however its there first year and quite a few mix ups on awards - they competed until 3AM in the morning in Dallas -then some titles given out were wrong - but seriously...   • Yes! Texas Cinderella is the best in the country. I have traveled and judged for Cinderella in several states. Texas is very natural, great people, NO input from state director on who should win.   WOW, I was reading another board and came across some interesting stuff. I thought I might clear up some confusion that you guys are having since you like all this drama. Some of you people WOW me. Yes, I was upset about the state pageant, but I NEVER posted anything on this board or any other board regarding racism or even the pageant itself. This stuff makes me sick to my stomach reading it. My daughter has had plenty of wins and plenty of losses too. This was the ONLY pageant that I was upset about. I admitted to JS and apologized for my actions at the State pageant and I have taken full responsibility for them since day 1. I think someone else is trying to drag this problem on. Get over it and move on like I have for 4 months now. You win some, you lose some. I am posting my Ip address and you can all check it out with all board owners to see personally if I was the one to post anything racist or anything about the KidsUSA system itself. I pray that each of you check it out personally, and then when you realize that it wasn't me, go on and find someone else to blame it on b/c guess what I have been over this dumb thing for so long.   I think D.H. L.B. and L.A. Directors pick there winners and not use judges at all thats just my opinion through observation. Any others you think do that? Wonder about MDF too. I think unless stated directors should not pick there winners. They see them too much online. Judges should be people who do not frequent pageant boards, JMHO

  Seems that Ultimate Queen and Petite Universal ended up with the same queen. Thought you couldn't carry two titles from the same director but I guess it doesn't matter since AC doesn't live 20-30 mintues down the road. I guess it's true what has been going around about this pageant system and this really proves it true. I hope the director is happy since no one in their right mind would compete in this pageant system again knowing they have pre-picked winners!

  This is what happened to me at Ultimate Queen and some interesting information on Petite Universal.
  
  Want to see what a bad Pageant Hair and Makeup job looks like go to the link I have enclosed and see who not to use for Hair and Makeup. He charged me $300 and I ended up with a white face when I am dark completed. He tried to tell me that you use two shades lighter for stage makeup, I thought I had always been told differently but I trusted this man. I figured it up on my score sheet and I lost a total of 51 points alone on just my facial beauty. The judges took off 3-4 points per judge on facial beauty alone. The score sheet is on the site. You also might find out what really happened at Ultimate in Indiana. Might be some interesting information on Petite Universal coming up in August that might make you change your mind about attending. Such as playing favoritism, contestants babysitting SH daughter. Many more things happened also and I believe it is time everyone was warned about my opinion on how good of a show that she can put on, but when it comes down to it she shows her true colors. The pictures alone speak for themselves on what a poor job that Charlie Boyd done to me. Not including the threating emails I received from the SH after me confronting CB about the poor job he done on me .I a know that I was the only person that come out looking like a zombie after all the girls he done. I will enclose more pictures on my website showing that not all the girls he done did not look like my makeup job. I personally think they have something working together. The ladies that won all age groups either new one of the judges which one of them was only 18 or was babysitting SH child or SH had won one of the girls that competed and won. It was more of a pageant for her friends. They were in a clique and you didn’t have a chance if you weren’t in that clique. Check it out and see what you think. Also I am not going to be competing any longer so if anyone needs anything pageant clothing, shoes, jewelry. I have a brand new gown that has been wore once Ultimate, a yellow bathing suit,a red interview suit to die for, shoes, all kinds of pageant stuff.   Hi, I'm at the Miss Petite International Pageant, and they let a girl that has judged the pageant last year compete! Not only that they let her show up 2 days later than everyone else.(the pageant is not over yet, so we dont know who won yet).   • Hi~ We will be there in the 0-2 age group. Their pageant here in AZ was alot of fun and very fair, which is what I look for in a pageant. I have heard nothing but good things regarding thier system. I have the email address of the lady who is doing H/M. We are having it done.. depending on your age group, she is only charging 60 for the babies main events and then 20 for each of the optionals. She is a big name and I can't wait to go.   Ok, I don't want any bashing here because I know Mona was bashed on some other boards when someboady asked an innocent question... but, I heard she takes pictures, right?   Also... I found a website for a pageant designer and now I lost the addy. All I can remember is there was a little girl on it called Baylie, the designers daughter. It was something like "pretty princess designs" or something like that. If you could give the addy if you know it that would be great!

  I'm curious about something....why do moms pay wads of money to have professional photos taken of their daughters, then pay someone to "touch them up" and make them look completly different? I've seen photos lately that the moms are very proud of, but the kids have computer-generated eyebrows (you shouldn't need dark, professionally shaped eyebrows on a baby or todder!), computer-generated eyelashes, c.g. lips, c.g. teeth, even photos where the child's entire eye (iris)was replaced with a c.g. eye! I can see airbrushing to make the skin tone more even, or adding highlights to eyes, hair, etc. But why would you want to put things on your child that don't actually exist? Like one mom had extra teeth added to her child's photo so that her grin would be bigger (she was only 11 mos old!) Have we really sunk so low as to think that our kids can in no way win with the natural beauty that was given to them? Do pageant and photo judges now think that groomed and lined eyebrows on babies is the way they are born? Alot of these photos are gorgeous and appealing in their own right. They don't need to be "enhanced" to bring out the beauty and personality of the child. Why, why, why do we continue to do this?!??

As long as people give in to the belief that they need these picture's for the "WIN", those photographer's and retouchers are going to have some pretty lined pockets!   • I think you're going to get bashing no matter what you do. Obviously everyone thinks their kid is the best, so it hurts some to see other kids get praise and theirs not. I don't think JJ was the target as she cannot choose to wear or not wear anything.     • What pageants are you talking about that don't use scoresheets? Cinderella uses scoresheets at the prelim level and then it is judges' consensus at state and international. Kids USA uses scoresheets at all levels and if you compete for scoresheet you even get all written comments. How was Miss and Mister done? I thought pretty much all of the pageants used scores. • Just want to share an awesome experience. We attended a prelim on Saturday of a "natural" pageant, having come from sort of a "glitz" background. We can now say that we love both types of pageants. We had so much fun on Saturday and were made to feel very much a part of the "family". So... glitz or natural, it doesn't matter! Pageants are what you make of them. We are happy to have made new friends and to have had such a positive experience. The Director is more than helpful and very nice.   • This may have been the Preliminary that we attended on Saturday too. If it was in East Mesa, AZ, I'm sure it was. We also had a wonderful time at this pageant and have found that we are always made to feel welcome and wanted. There were quite a few new families and it was nice to meet them all.
