I have never participated in this pageant but heard that at her OK State this year that was supposed to be TOTAL GLITZ the judges who were not glitz judges, were lowballing girls for too much glitz. Now I have never heard of TOO MUCH GLITZ at a GLITZ pageant so I am not sure on it. I do know that her next OK state does have a NO FAKE RULE. - We competed at her OK State and Nationals open pageants. The no fake rule did apply. My DD wore a glitzy dress and SW. We did not get deducted for her attire. I think that it is ridiculous that the Cinderella Highlights have not all been posted and the finals have been over for a week...the website says it is a great way to see what is happening at internationals if you can not attend and they also say that the photos are updated daily...it is awful that they couldn't even post a picture of the new royalty. I understand that they are busy but if you say you are going to have the pictures up every day you need to follow through....it has been very, very, very frustrating!!

Let me sum it up for you.
They lied about the hotel "mix up" the schedule had T-shirt Fri. afternoon and the pageant starting at 3pm, as it did, for months and I have an e-mail and print outs of the web site to prove it.
They cancelled a category we all had to pay for in our packages and they forced us to also purchase a T-shirt in our mandatory fees that we could not return after the category was cancelled.
They cancelled the carnival that we all were required to pay for in our mandatory fees.
They did not furnish us with a program until the event was over and we also paid for that in our mandatory fees.
The program book was of the lowest possible quality and we could not refuse it or return it.
They turned away the Queens from the photos.
They refuse to give any refunds for anything they cancelled.
They allowed contestants to pay for 3rd pro-ams and re-do their mistakes after competing even though the paperwork clearly says you are allowed only 1 extra modeling event.
They allowed judges who are involved with the contestants and the trainers, judges who currently compete against the contestants and who have some sort of actual ownership in the pageant.
Here's what we really lost:
Crowning cost $45 to watch both days. Everything else in the manditory fees was either not given, cancelled or furnished after it was no longer needed.
Therefore, the remaining $55 per person should be refunded.
Beauty costs $250 per person if done separately. The packages represent about 50% off so if you purchased a package you paid about $125 per person for main beauty. According to the paperwork:
NATIONAL MAIN BEAUTY CATEGORIES & AWARDS
The main competition consists of Beauty and Mandatory T- Shirt.
We received only 1 out of 2 of these categories and are due a refund of half of the fee. That would be $62.50 per person for a grand total of $117.50 per person.
There were over 100 people in the pageant. That means CM owes us collectively a minimum of $11,700.00
How do you feel about that? Personally, I'm sickened to know that they took all of that money from us and amazed that any-one would defend them.

A fairly large group of us have just flown home from the Little Miss and Master Hawaiian Tropic International pageant in Canada. On the plane we (including some of the winners) came to the conclusion that the pageant was sketchy.
This was out first year (and mostly likely only year) going. Has anyone else been and can you share your experiences?

As a mother, I always want what is best for my children and my family and I also believe that anybody reading this message feels the same way. As a "pageant mom & dance mom", I always attempt to find the best studios and programs for my children as well.
I have seen the "battle" between two systems in our state for about 3 years now and it is getting to the point where I don't even want to allow my kids to do pageantry any longer! It is ridiculous that people are actually posting people's childrens initials on posts, trying to "point them out" as they choose to move on to the "competitions" system. If you have a personal problem with a system, talk to the Directors and if that doesn't work, take it as a loss but please stop dragging others into it. Some of you who are leaving a system, had very unflattering things to say about the system you have now re-joined, did you simply forget those problems?
We all make mistakes, some things go great for a year, go flat and then pop in great again. It is part of life and whether you choose to believe it or not, it happens. If you feel ever so confident in your posting of other people's initials, knowing people will get the "full effect" then I hope you are truely happy with yourself. A couple of those initials didn't even "earn" their suppposed titles but were given a chance to have a fun year at someone else's expense, nice way to thank people huh? But, we will not get into what people do or better yet, do not do. Don't forget, politics will follow you everywhere you go, don't think you will escape the pitfalls. Much luck to you all but stop bringing everyone else into your messes! You are making people miserable instead of "being the informant".

What happened to KW. I just looked on the AZ Cinderella website and they replaced the picture of the royalty and she is no longer in it and not listed as the royalty. This post is out of genuine concern, I had known she was sick but did not know specifics. I am just curious if she is okay and nothing is wrong. It is just strange that nothing was mentioned to the entire AZ Cinderella Community.

I've ordered several pageant tapes from Geoff Tucker of Starshiners, he trades or sells at like 5 dollars each.. the quality is very good, and the delivery time is prompt (I was expecting to wait 2 weeks, but had my tapes in 5 days).. can't remember his website, but it's easy to find thru Google..

I have really had it! I spent $750 for a new routine for my daughter just to find out that another mother heard about the music we were using and the coreographer we hired and is copying my daughter's exact number! First, I can't believe the coreographer is doing a number to the same music! But shouldn't there be a morality among pageant moms that we won't steal ideas and numbers from each other? It has gotten so that moms in our area don't think anything about stealing from one another as far as ideas,clothing and numbers. It has also been that one pageant mom tells other pageant moms a certain person to use as a coreographer and says that they are awesome but then the first mom goes to somebody else who is even better! HaHa, she must be thinking! The joke is on the poor mom who went where she was referred to this "awesome" coreographer who isn't even good.
And all of these moms pretend to be friends. Friends don't do this to each other. Don't we all have more honesty than this?
This totally makes me sick and furious. What should I do? Should I sue the coreographer? The mom who stole the routine that we bought first? Does anybody know an attorney that I can contact? I just want some answers although it is sad that it has to come to this.
Do any pageant moms have husbands who are attorneys that can help me out? I really need legal advice bad!

- Actually, if the same rules apply as in dance, then the "routine" belongs to the choreographer, not the student. So unless you sign a contract with her reserving your exclusive right to the moves, then you probably have no course of action. Also, with the choice of music. I SAID SURE, I MEAN I KNEW A LITTLE ABOUT VOUCHERS I HAVE A SITER IN LAW WHO IS A STEWARDESS..ANYWAY SHE TOLD ME THESE WERE GOOD ON ANY AIRLINE ANY TIME..I GOT TO THE MAIN AIRLINE'S SITE AND THESE ARE EMPLOYEE VOUCHERS AND ARE VOID IF SOLD WHICH IS WHAT SHE DID SHE SOLD ME 2.. I DID NOT KNOW THESE WERE LIKE THIS HAD I OF, I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THEM WHY PAY FOR SOMTHING YOU CANT USE? DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY - PUT IT TO GOOD USE ELSEWHERE! Worst pageant EVER! Directors picked who they wanted (convenient that it was THEIR DAUGHTERS' STATE QUEEN) hounded the judges into changing scores. I KNOW because they changed MINE and they TOLD ME SO after the pageant. They are so pitiful. It was a waste of time and money and it is one "crown & banner" I won't be displaying. Supposedly there was a lawsuit and we were all to be contacted but I've still heard nothing - anyone else?
P.S.: They were following us around the boards and threatening us...

It appears that several people may have been scammed out of $600 or more by a woman who says her name is Sue, possibly a last name of Powers, possibly from Illinois. She posted several dresses on the boards last week and two of us may have purchased the same dresses from her. Hey everyone,
My name is Robbie Wilson & I am with a non-profit organization called Queen for a Day. The goal of this non-profit is to raise the self-esteem & self-confidence of young girls with cancer (or other illnesses). We do this by hosting tea parties at hospitals where the girls receive a make-over & tiaras (donated by titleholders or pageant companies across the country)! The girls have their pictures taken with a title holder to commemorate this special day!
Since we are a non-profit we rely heavily on donations & we are running EXTREMELY low on tiaras! The National Headquarters has had to supply tiaras for 19 parties in the last 3 months & it has taken a heavy toll on our tiaras. Just wondering why such a grounded system can't keep their website up and running???? I like to check in with it once in a while and see what is happening, but I am losing faith. This is not the first time that their site has been down and I am really starting to doubt all of the great things that everyone has to say. - The Director has always been really good at getting back to phone calls so I would try again and be certain to leave your phone number clearly. I am a new pageant director that has added a pageant to my ongoing National Talent Competition. I added my annual National Pageant after my daughters got involved in the pageant system and I immediately saw so many favorites and discrepancies as a mom trying to be an objective observer. (My daughters have won some and lost some, but I didn't see the overall great things happening that I would expect from how much my entry fees were.) I want to make sure that our New pageant is the proper compliment to our talent competition and want to know what makes a great pageant great. We know it would be great if everyone could win, but after almost a spotless track record with complaints in the Talent World, we want to make sure that we can do the same in the Pageant World. I guess I am asking for advice from the objective veteran moms to let us know what you are looking for in a great pageant. And no, my daughters can't compete in my competition. They proudly wear a staff badge and have since we started our talent competition years ago. I want to create the best of the best and go to bed at night with a clear head knowing that the girls involved had a great time and that everyone was fairly judged. So, if you can think of what your favorite pageant was and tell me why it was your favorite I would appreciate it so much. If I am going to do this, I am going to do this right! did anybody attend beary special in nashville this past weekend?....good turnout...about 60 or so girls...very tough competition in the lower levels...particularly in the 7-9 group..Lauren Yee, Sabrina Pung, among others..does anybody have any feedback on how thw pageant went?...did anybody stand out?..I was told that Lyndsey Hall from Tennessee did very well and that the judges really liked her short haircut...

I need a bit of advice from everyone. I recently competed in a pageant and had a H&M artist to do my hair and makeup. Needless to say that when I got my pictures back from this pageant along with my scores my face was literally ghost white, and I am dark complected to begin with. Not only that the judges sheet stated that each of the four judges had taken 3-4 points per event for poor facial beauty alone because of this makeup job. I called this H&M artist for weeks before he contacted me back and finally said that he would take off $50.00 of the original $300 I paid him the next time he done me. I wouldn't let him touch me again. I will do my own hair and makeup. I just needed opinion on what to do. He is well known and I don't want that to happen to anyone else. Shouldn't he own me more then that. He ruined my chances of winning a title. I entrusted him to make me look good and instead I looked like a zombie. No one else looked that way that he did. Just let me know your opinions.

- Don't waste your money! It isn't enough that the Directors look like welfare recipients, they are unprofessional in every sense of the word! For a National pageant you would think that there would be a better emcee, a nicer stage and that events would start on time. Prize packages are pathetic to say the least but that isn't my biggest complaint. I just don't think those ladies know what they are doing! Oh, brother! - First of all, I was at the Gemstars Nationals and I thought every thing went perfectly well!! The stage looked great! I agree the crowns and trophies were absoulutally gorgeous!!!! The prizes were great!! On the "everything was late" topic, bull!!! There was one event that was late and it's not a big deal they're human, not perfect!!!! - The parties were great and the kids had a blast!!! I happen to have spent time around the lifetime and out going royalty and I thought they were extremely helpful and extremely sweet!!! And about it being unorganized, and the directors not knowing what they are doing you are tottaly wrong!!! I happen to know that they have been putting their kids in pageant for atleast 10 years, I think they know what they're doing!! The bottom line is, it was a blast and the kids had a blast, youguys are probablly just parents whose kids didn't win any thing so now your mad at the pageant, WHATEVER!!! Here's my honest, unbiased opinion. I do not have a photo contest of my own but I do enter my daughter into many photo contests.
My child has been entered into all of Dawn's contest and done well and finally won big in one of them. I DO think she's fair. I know we do not personally know her, but my daughter still won and NO she doesn't have BTK pics!
My child has also been entered into Loli's contest and still hasn't won, but I STILL think she is very fair, otherwise, I wouldn't continue to enter my child.
I can also honestly say that I've not always agreed with the winners of these ladies contests, BUT I am respectful enough to be able to look at the winners from another's view and see how judges could have liked their pics better than my daughters even if I don't. That's all it is afterall, an OPINION, right??

This is a mom in AZ. Her daughter just won the Co-ed Sweetheart title for AZ so she won't be competing this year. Per Co-ed's rules she has to sit out this year from other competitions so it surprizes me that CV is looking for a talent for her daughter. She better keep looking!
