Subject: my daughter is 10 years old

My daughter is now 10 years old. She is having to
compete with 12 year olds and she is having a hard
time. The 12 year olds are about a foot and 1/2
taller than her and are really filled out. We don't
do any big state pageants but lots of area ones. I
started pulling her hair up to make her look older
but it didn't seem to help much. Saturday she was in
a pageant, 12 girls in the 10-12 yr. age group. 4 of
the girls' bodies looked more like they were about 19
years old. Just by listening to people talk aroung me,
my daughter was by far the best model and one of the
prettier ones. Is it just an awkward age for her or
should I do her hair different, maybe higher heels,
or do I dare put the cups in her dress and would that
look silly as she is so much smaller than the rest.

- we have this problem too; I wish the directors would consider development and break the supreme divisions or age divisions accordingly.
