it's fine, buddy, i dont mind you expressing your opinion and i would rather we both post here than keep in touch via email, you know that won't be the same. Everyone at this board only lurks anyway, no one posts anymore so it might as well that we make some use of it :) This board is going on it's 12 year (!) so you know what, i'm not ready to call it quits quite yet. So while yes, it is a Brad forum first and foremost, i still welcome all opinions here
I saw IB and i gotta tell you, regardless of anything related to Brad, this movie's a winner. My man liked it so much, he couldn't stop talking about it for hours afterwards. It's one of his top movies of all time, that's for sure. He did say he thought Brad's Tennessee accent was terrible but i thought he was just hamming it up, he really got in the spirit of this flick and all his lines got the biggest laughs (as they were supposed to, not unintentionally) Also, i know you say QT is weird and i certainly dont disagree (you dont even want to know the story about how a close friend of mine, who's a production designer, met him at some exclusive lounge here in NY a few years ago and he licked her ear just because he thought it'd be a nice pick up line LOL she didnt go for it but it was quite a story to tell ppl)...needless to say he's a tad creepy as a person, but the man is one good filmmaker. He is the same exact age as Brad and has been making movies since he was my age with his first enormous hit, Reservoir Dogs, coming out in '92. And honestly, compared to other fare like Kill Bills, etc, this movie really showcases his talents as a director and he's really matured in my opinion. The cinematography is stunning and the acting is superb. I thought a few actors there quite outshined Brad, in my opinion, like the guy that plays the Nazi villain. Christophe Platz is his name, i think he's a German actor, i've never heard of him before, i need to look him up on IMDB. He was just mindblowingly good, every scene with him was a treat. I think his part was even bigger than Brad's in this movie and he made his every appearance onscreen something to look forward to. And at over 2.5 hours, the movie did not feel long one bit, it flew by. Everyone that was in the theater with me loved it, there was some hearty applause at the end (and the place was packed to capacity, i am surprised if it doesn't make a killing at the box office this weekend) And it's not as gory as people expect, it's actually executed beautifully. In short, i give the movie two thumbs up and if you wont see it, buddy, at least tell your son to go to, i really think he'll like it. Guys ate this movie up with a spoon and i dont blame 'em, when the stuff's good, it's good :)
