Hey buddy,

I saw this movie when it first came out in theaters and yes, i totally agree with everything you're saying, it's sort of laughable. But the sad thing is, around these parts (NYC, i mean), this is EXACTLY how a lot of women behave and that's why so many of my girl friends are in their late 20's and early 30's now and still single. It's tough to find a serious relationship in this city, i was dating around till i was 25 (when i met my current bf) and most of those relationshiops weren't that serious. What i tell my single girl friends is that whenever there are all these rules involved and effort to try to get someone, it's not going to work out anyway. In a way that's what the movie was trying to say, i guess, but it sort of says it all ass-backwards LOL (it's based on a book with the sama name, btw, from the writers of Sex and the City, and i think that's what the book was trying to say anyway) All i know is that with my current bf, i didnt have to play any games or wonder why he is not calling or how i should act, etc, it was just NATURAL. That's the key i think, that when it's right, it just happens and you look back thinking, hmm, so what did i do/say to get to this point? And you realize that you didnt have to do anything other than be yourself and the person fell in love with you for you and vice versa. Two of my best girlfriends are single and the sort of dating stories i hear from them just make me glad i'm not dating around anymore, all these mind games and tricks, and "he texted me saying this, what should i say" ugh it's exhausting. And it starts being kind of sad when the person is in their 30's and in that position, 20's are all about dating around, i get it, but 30's is when people need to think about starting a family... At this point, you need to learn from past mistakes and speed things along (without seeming too desperate of course, that's the other problem) and these women go about it all wrong, it's like they have a TYPE and keep falling for the same type of guys that just aren't bf material! And they try to reel someone in and it just doesn't work that way. All it leads to is lots of meaningless sex and no true love. I really feel sorry for some of them sometimes, it's very rewarding to have someone that's your best friend who also loves you, aside from all that society dictates and "the biological clock" and all that, it's just really nice to be in love. I really hope they find it soon because the crazy thing is that they're all awesome girls and any guy would be lucky to be with them....
anyway, i digress but yeah, that movie was entertaining, even if a lot of what it was about was a load of bs and kind of silly, i couldn't resist seeing it with the girls though :)
