Subject: Cayman's War On Drugs

I feel a very good case can be made for the legalization and government control of the distribution of drugs. If drugs were distributed to addicts at no cost, the drug cartels the would be out of business. They would no longer be able to corrupt governments, and society by bribery and intimidation. All of the money now spent on interdiction, incarceration , law enforcement, and the courts could be used to help rehabilitate addicts and bring the recruitment of new addicts to a minimum. The human misery and damage caused by addicts in order to obtain money to buy drugs would be a thing of the past. The “war on drugs” has been lost. It is time for a new approach.
