I think the gi is something someone likes or not. Personal preference. I think gi training could be beneficial to MMA but I can certainly understand not wanting to train in one for MMA. By the way, I'm undefeated in MMA competition. Yup, 0-0-0 so take it for what it's worth.

I guess my point earlier in saying new guys should wear the gi is so many people just use strength and muscle to power out of stuff that they never learn the actual submission or escape. Strenth, sweat and power go a long way often times but ultimately I think the technique is what you want. When you get a guy who has the strength & power AND technique, he's bad a$$.
