UT Basketball team #2????? It's time for playoffs, oh wait, nm lol

Before anyone takes up arms to defend Omar Visquel, perhaps they should take a look at Baltimore shortstop Mike Bordick. 1 error all season is kind of hard to beat. Only knock on him was that he only played in 117 games.

Mike Young will get his. It just takes time, Gold Gloves are less and less about defense and more and more about reputation and stature.

I think Jim Thome let alot of us down. I actually read a piece from Fox Sports that said "Don't blame him for taking the money, blame the union, which put pressure on him to set the market as high as he can". Oh.

Wang Zhizhi used to be the best player to come out of China. Hi Yao Ming.

Speaking of Yao, I have had one chance to see him and he was dominating. Of course, his opposition that night was Shawn Bradley. Still, it wasn't just what he did against the Mav's big man that was impressive, the guy handles the basketball in traffic like it is a part of him.

Speaking of the Mavericks, the streak and great record (16-1) are great, but I think the Bull's record is out of reach for anyone, not just them. Especially with almost full slate of games left against Lakers/Spurs/Kings. One such test comes this Friday against the mighty Lakers.

The Rangers, Brewers, Tigers and Devil Rays are going to be bad. And it will have nothing to do with Buck Showalter, Ned Yost, Alan Trammell and Lou Piniella.

Put that money back in your wallet, Mr General Manager. Seems you are wasting money this year. Anyone who reads Peter Gammons will point to last week's article, which listed potential free agents after the 2003 and 2004 seasons. It says here: Save your money and wait until after the 2004 season, when you will be able to pick from a field that includes. Kerry Wood, Odalis Perez, Javier Vazquez, Pedro Martinez, Derek Lowe, Curt Schilling, Matt Morris (unless his arm falls off) Eric Milton, Brad Radke Nomar Garciaparra, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Troy Glaus, Paul Konerko, Mariano Rivera, Rob Nen and Troy Percival. Of course, that is 2 years away and many of the above may re-up with their current teams, or just not be as good by then. Still, the wealth of pitching has to make you drool, especially if your a Rangers fan.

I am not ready to annoint Chad Hutchinson as the next Troy Aikman yet, but I must say: I like a LOT of what I see out of him.

I have been beaten over the head for a few months now, with local talk shows wondering why Emmitt can always turn it up a notch when he is on a national stage. They wonder why he doesn't do the same against lesser opponents. These eyes tell me that it is odd how during these "big" games, Emmitt isn't hit the second he touches the ball in the backfield on every other play. I am no expert, but it seems to me that sort of thing happers your ability to do your job when you are a running back. You don't think it could be that young, inexperienced, inconsistant, constantly changing offensive line in front of him do you? Surely it couldn't be.

I like this scattershooting type of post JP. Good idea on your part. I hope it catches on.
