Subject: 2002-Year Of The Cubs?

Total disbelief has overcome me, the Chicago Cubs have signed an impact free agent!!! Moises Alou signed a 3 year $27 million dollar deal today. What this means is the Cubs actually have a potent 3-4-5 for the first time in awhile in McGriff-Sosa-Alou. I know some naysayers will claim McGriff is old and Alou will be 36 by opening day, yet these 2 still produce very good numbers at "advanced" ages. Still alot of "ifs" with this team, such as bullpen help, a closer, although, I believe it's time Kyle Farnsworth gets his shot and catcher, but let's just say Todd Hundley plays back to his 30 HR 100 RBI years, the lineup improves that much more. The Cubs lineup should look like this.....

2B DeShields (if Bobby Hill is deemed not ready)
3B Mueller
RF Sosa
1B McGriff
LF Alou
SS Gonzalez
C Hundley
CF Patterson/Brown/Tucker
P

I believe if things fall into place right, the 2002 Cubs could be destined for LATE October baseball. Then again, it could all fall apart, and being a Cubs fan, I know thats always a major possibilty.
