Subject: Caution, Bad Words Ahead

John Hart. Fuck You
Fuck you and the horse you rode in on. I was willing to hope that Everett's Red Sox persona was the result of a really really bad clubhouse and really really really bad managment. I was willing to think that Rocker wasn't really a racist, just someone who wanted to help a rivalry, and just did it in a stupid manner. I was hoping that Dave Burba might return to his 4ish ERA, and that last year when his ERA was higher than Darren Oliver's, was a fluke, rather than a sign that he was becoming old.
But now, in his infinate wisdome, John Hart decides that his 10 year streak of not going to arbitration, was more important than having the heart of the Ranger's pitching staff, Rick Helling, return.
The only thing I have heard is that Hart tried to work out a multi year deal, but since they couldn't, they would just say Fuck It, and let Helling go.... for nothing.
I am sure Hart has a plan, though at this rate, I am sure that plan has him trading Arod, Pudge and Hank Blalock for Blake Stein.
I realize that Rick Helling isn't an "ace", and that as a Rangers fan, I overate him. But all the guy does every year is pitch his ass off, he is always the leader in # of pitches thrown every year, and the guy is all heart. He is a "power pitcher" who only occasionally gets as high as 90 MPH, and doesn't have an especially good breaking ball or change. He gets by on brains, guts, and guile. He was a team leader, and a damn good guy.
But it isnt as though he was a good guy, who would make too much money, and not produce. He is a solid #2 pitcher, who probably would have got about 7 mil in arbitration.
This is just sickening.
ps I am hearing the Rangers and Chan Ho Park agreed to a 5 year, 70 mil deal. yawn
