Subject: Whose Swing?

Excluding LPG and HSS (maybe) the other 3 SA swings here all have Moe Norman as their icon. At least in the case of NG there seems to be quite a bit of instruction that would have people swing in a way that to me is not like Moe.

A number of people have reported they look for an extended period where the face is square to the target line yet Moe has a VERY forceful release and the face seem to only be square through maybe 2 video frame (impact + 1). A number have reported that NG is an 'arm' swing (this does need a definition) but I see Moe make a significant use of his body in the swing.

Although we (and Moe) might ascribe certain 'feelings' to Moe's swing, the one objective reference for me is what can be seen in video. My goal is to swing like Moe/Scott so I refine my movements to look more like theirs.

It is not clear to me that others here have that goal. Is your goal to have a swing that looks (and works) like Moe/Todd/Scott... or does it not matter?

Peter
