Without statistics and sometimes even dumb luck, how are we supposed to decide when to stop someone? When I think I should stop someone, I am usually forced to justify it for some liberal worried about the rights of criminals.

Sure, I protect myself, and try to be respectful of the rights of everyone I come into contact with BUT sometimes I am right, and sometimes I am not. I stop people and hope that they are OK, but sometimes they are not. I only want to do my job, and when I am done for the day to go home. I will not let someone's feelings stop me from doing what I think will help protect me when I am unsure of a situation. Of course, I do not try to judge people, I just try to find violations of the law and report them. Judges do the rest.

Of course I am just working within a system set up by others, and therein just doing my job. I am only concerned with my job, and not some changing idea of political correctness. If I received a directive to search all people from Arab or Muslim countries, I would. To me this would seem excessive, but I never received this directive.

My question remains, how are we supposed to decide whom to search?
