Jessica Simpson - The fact that she is a Britney Spears clone is bad enough but it does get worse. Her latest single samples a well known guitar riff from, of all
things, a John Cougar Mellencamp song proving the fact that two wrong do not make a right.

I'm not sure how it is in Australia, but in the U.S., I am being bombarded with so much, and I quote, "tenny-bopper-ass-shit." End quote. We have four blonde underage teeny-boppers here (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, and Mandy Moore), and even though I would do them if I was a man of lesser morals, their exposure gets to be real anoying real fast. Some of them may actually have some talent, but you sometimes can't tell since their image seems to cater to pedophiles.

The sited example of Jessica Simpson is another cause of another exclamation. When I first heard the above track, I thought, "Cool, John Mellencamp!" But it ended up being Jessica Simpson. I swear, you hardly even hear the bitch, and it's all Mellencamp's sample that makes the song. Sampling sometimes can help a track, but shouldn't define it! I'm not sure if anyone there has had to listen to Puff "Sample the whole fuckin' 80's" Daddy and his work from years before. And then there was Wyclef Jean totally rippin' off Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust." Hell, can't artists make something original nowadays?

Oh, when you think it's bad when hip-hop rips off music, it's almost as bad when some wannabee rockers try to rip off rap. Case in point, Dynamite Hack's "Boyz 'n Da Hood" is a slow paced version (rip off) of the famous NWA track. And just recently, I just heard a song (and I use the term loosely) sample off a track from Dido by some hip-hop or alternative pos (author unknown). I thought it was a cool remix, but turned out to be a narrative using the sampled track as background. That's got to piss off some artists, who had their work sampled by others who make more money off of it.

Okay, end rant.

BTW, thanks for the props, Hellboy. You always be a true nigga'.
