Do Australians have an Independence Day of their own and what do they do traditionally to celebrate (other than drinking, of course)? What do you girls and guys do?

Recover from New Year's, mostly.

Australia doesn't have an Independence Day as such, as the laws passed by the British Parliament that made modern Australia a reality set 1st January 1901 as the starting date.

Australia instead celebrates Australia Day on 26th January, which ostensibly marks first Eurpoean settlement, but there are moves suggested every so often to move it to NYD, so it would become a de facto Independence Day. IMHO that doesn't make sense...
