As Tori skillfully manuvered the truck through town, he loaded the sawed off Remington he'd retrieved from the cellar on their mad dash out of the house. He wished he'd have had time to clean the thing, but there'd been no time for that. With any luck, he wouldn't be forced to use it--yet knowing Kip, luck was probably going to be pretty far out of reach by the time they got there.
Gone was the good humored version of himself, replaced by the stone-cold, lethal persona he'd been notorious before. The fact that they were rushing to the aid of a felon that had just reached the top of the Fed's priority list, risking certain imprisonment, didn't seem to phase him in the slightest. With a final click, the gun was serviced and ready for whatever was to come, and Tumbler laid his green gaze on the road ahead.
The mayhem came into view, looking like something out of some Hollywood action flick. A black SUV lay smoking on it's side in the distance, while others were clustered around a similarly smoking...oh dear God. That was when the realization dawned on him of exactly what Kip had done to cause all of this. He'd gone and stole the only Goddamn Edsel Ford Boss on the planet...and was currently using it to shield himself from the spray of bullets being unloaded on him from countless federal agents. "Fuck. Me." He said stoically as Tori halted the beast.
He looked at her as she spoke, not wanting her to go, not wanting to subject her to all of those flying bullets. He knew that if Kip stood a chance at all, though, Tori was it, and it was only her immortality that kept him from making her stay. "Tori. I love you." He would do all he could to follow her directions, and to subdue the older Raines brother from doing anything rash. But if it came down to the wire--he would do what he had to do, to keep it all from coming down on the rest. It was what he had done a decade ago, and what he would do always--he was the captain of this ship, so to speak, and he'd sink with it, if he had to.
Memphis made a move for the door, by Tumbler was quicker, catching the man by the collar of his shirt and yanking him back. "No! He roared at the other, muscled arms fighting against Memphis' struggles. "If you care about that kid in the slightest, you'll stay fucking still! What did Tori tell you?!" That seemed to catch Memphis' attention, and both men shifted their attentions to the action.
Tori had unleashed her claws and was currently ripping chunks of rubber from the tires of the Fed's transportation, pushing the vehicles and even flipping one out of the way. She was a whirlwind in her fury, and he had never been prouder as he watched her work--watched her defend those who were important to her.
The Federal agents had taken notice of her at this point, and it took every single ounce of his self control not to lunge from the truck when he watched them turn their guns on the woman he loved. Blood flew, and he cursed violently, thumbing the the safety on the Remington. And for once, it was Memphis that brought him back to reality, putting his hand on the barrel of the weapon with a shake of his head.
Still Tori continued, despite having taken God knows how many bullets. The fleet of black government vehicles had been completely disabled, and even still, the bullets flew. Tumbler had not seen Kip in ten years, but he'd have known the boy anywhere, despite the mass of muscle he'd acquired in the years.
What floored him was the fact that even standing there in the haze of gunsmoke, Kip was laughing, hooting, and hollering. He looked as if he was doing no more than socializing at the bar, rather than fighting for his life. It would have been comical under any other circumstance--but now, it was almost chilling. Tori yelled something to him and it seemed like time slowed down in that instant. Kip's attention turned towards her, but even in that brief millisecond, an agent took the opportunity.
The bullet took Kip somewhere around the neck--Tumbler could see the blood fly. He didn't take even an instant to fear the situation, turning immediately to fight Memphis, who was clawing at the door, screaming his brother's name. "Memphis! No! Wait!" God, please don't let the kid be dead--he knew Tori had the ability to possibly help, but he remembered it had taken a lot from her the last time, and she had already taken so much.
Green gaze flicked back towards the kid, and and apparently, Memphis had looked in that same instant, for his struggles stopped. Kip was up, and while blood washed down his shoulder in a torrent, he hadn't lost the grip on the monster gun. He grinned slowly, before squeezing the trigger on the auto, getting the agent who'd shot him at the knee. Oh. Shit.

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here
Too many people to ache over
Trials in life, questions of us existing here
Don't wanna die alone without you here
Please tell me what we have is real

I found you here, now please just stay for a while
I can move on with you around
I hand you my mortal life, but will it be forever?
I'll do anything for a smile, holding you 'til our time is done
We both know the day will come, but I don't want to leave you

The drive from the Complex had been the longest of his life--and Tori had been driving at mach the entire way. All he could think of was getting to his brother. The last thing he had heard on the phone with Kip had been the sound of gunfire, and his heart had been in his throat every second since. He had rushed to Eleanor in panic and had almost managed to get the keys in the ignition before Tori had dragged him out. They'd had it out again on the lawn before she'd finally convinced him he was doing Kip no favors by being difficult.
He was in a zone the entire way, navy gaze locked on the road ahead. He uttered a choked sound when he saw the wreckage that had become of the area outside of the club. His own realization as to what had caused all of this dawned at the same moment as Tumbler's. He would never understand what had possessed his brother to steal a single production model car, not now, nor probably to the end of his days--but in that moment, very real and very cold terror sunk in.
Tori halted the truck, but he didn't hear a word she said as his gaze locked on his brother. He was being shot at by countless Federal agents, and was returning them with a ridiculously huge gun of his own. All the older man could think of was getting to his kid brother--of tackling him and forcing him to keep his fool head down instead of risking it every time he went to take a shot. He went for the door, but Tumbler had been prepared, hauling him back with a roar. "I gotta Tum! He's gonna fuckin' die out there!" He yelled, all of his fear and all of his fierce protectiveness for his brother evident in his words. But then Tumbler's words caught his attention, and he stopped long enough to see Tori advancing on the agents.
She made quick work of the vehicles, and a small ember of hope flared. Maybe Kip would get out of this alive just yet. But before he could nurture that ember to a flame, his whole world fell around him.
Kip took a bullet to the neck, or so it appeared, blood flying. With a strangled sound, Memphis threw himself at the door, and this time when Tumbler tried to fight him back, he fought against his friend. "He's hit! God, he's hit!" And he continued to fight Tumbler, sure his brother was dead but needing to go to him.
What he saw next froze him. Kip was bleeding heavily but was on his feet, firing on the agent that had shot him. And he opening the passenger door to the Mustang. Lord, let it start.
