It would seem no words she spoke would resound with him this eve’ watching as he shook his head against her statement that death could not claim him. She was not a fool; she knew they all had a time when life came to an end, when their maker said their mission over. She had also known she would go first. She was good, great even, but Erich had been better. She had learned a lot from him, though not all of it and owed much of her success within the government missions to him. Listening as he spoke of his existence being hell, how he’d wished to fade from the earth to nothing if such could happen. ”Have you tried comrade?” The obvious question being rather he had tried to take his life since turning or not, a question she wished answered but showed no true interest in outwardly.

Anger and emotion flared between them, snarling and gnashing much like she assumed the beast within him. Their partnership had always been volatile, deadly to those who had crossed their path, and dangerous even unto them. But where many had crumbled and been burned in the wake of Erich’s desires she had revealed in it. It was one of the few times she’d felt truly alive, the killer breed machine able to experience something other than the fierce loyalty she held for their country. He spoke words of truth and yet she could not help but doubt him. For surely even like he was there was more of the man he once had been than the monster he now stood. ”Aye, it is because of you that I am still as I am.” Pausing as she thought of saying more but deciding to let the moment go as they moved onto other topics, for now.

The familiar smirk she had so often flashed him formed, a hand twitching at her side as if she’d thought of moving to lay a hand on his shoulder then thought better of it. ”The few that have, I have sent to their eternal grave.” All but one, her first, the one whose necklace she wore and who had been responsible for taking Erich, that one had gotten away. ”Never give up, never surrender,” familiar words spoken in thickly accented tongue.

He spoke with venom again, fighting to make her see him as something she was refusing to see. Icy blue gaze took in the cold ice that was Erich’s noticing the ferociousness of before though it was deeper now, harsher even. A small part wished to agree with him, to deem him unfit and cut her ties and loses, but the pride and loyalty she possessed would not let her leave this fight alone. ”You are not just dis monster, you are still Erich Malcovosk. She knew this. Saw it in the set of his jaw line, of the physical twitch of muscle under flesh, his very scent. This was not simply some monster she could kill, but her comrade, her friend. To argue more would have upset both, so it was here that she took the time to pause and reminisce over the reasons she had left Russia, the motherland.

She did not speak for a time, and then slowly and without emotion she began to tell him the reason(s). ”Soon after you were taken I went back to de government. Demanded that they help me find you, but they would not. The instead put me up with Itsov!” He would recall the younger recruit who had become the best of lap dogs for their commanding officer. ”I was given minimal missions and kept on tight leash. Finally I had enough. I took leave and came back here following the already cold trail in hopes of finding anything that would lead me. I found dat and more.” She did not mention how she had been attacked soon after her second return or of her time with a bouncer at this very club, both were in the past and useless towards the ending story.

I took back the intel I gathered, but when I showed it they simply brushed it aside, the original mission was scrapped and I was told to stand down.” Here pain flickered as she recalled her stubbornly standing before the council asking for another chance and a little more time. Begging even, stating that they were right that supernatural beings were within Cascade City, and that she was closing in on one of their leaders. ”Irreconcilable differences made me take my leave, but not before they took from me rank.” She had left on her own terms, but not without great cost. She had been turned away, because she would not turn her back on their mission. ”Bloody would our battle be if such were the case.” Comment made about how things would be if he had truly been her target, though as neither would have fought to defend against the other, long it would have been too.

Listening as he answered the question she had asked, nodding when acceptable and frowning through most of it. As he spoke of finding out the reason why, she could not help the anger within. She too wished to know, but for reason selfish of her own. She wanted to know how to stop it from happening again, and even better to end the being who had started it. ”I can help.” The words low, but sure to be heard by him. ”My intel is good and sure, it is very likely we seek the same being.” A pause as she looked around seeng none looking at them, then continued. ”It is he that leaked our mission, my information states it is because of the one you call dominus, that I was ambushed and our mission failed.” The anger was unhidden as she spoke this, though it flared to an even higher level of rage and mild disgust as he spoke of seeking revenge on the beast by ending his own life. ”It is possible, I can even arrange it, but the world would loose a great lose without you.” she never mentioned herself, for such was unneeded. ”I have read legends of ways to undo such turnings, but success is small and few between.” Giving him the knowledge he would seek, but also the uncoated truth, that hope was nearly futile. ”Comarde, let us work together, to end the existence of this dominus you seek and then, then we talk of other circumstance.” Here she did hold out her hand, as if to shake is own, unafraid and sure staring at him with eyes that dared him to refuse her.

It's a devil's disguise

Angel in black

I don't know if I want you back

You're the cool nights of the desert

And the hot kisses of the sun

Why is it that I don't believe you

When you say I'm the only one

I know I'm the lonely one

It's a devil's disguise

Angel in black

And I recognize the shadows from your past

It's a devil's disguise

Angel in black
