Her smile grew exponentially. Not only was he avoiding the topic of his father with some determination, but he was a shifter. He didn’t have the harmful vibe that Lyla had gotten in the past with creatures that were duel natured. She took another sip of her drink, detaching the wet napkin from the bottom. After she let the alcohol trickle down in delight, she straightened the soggy napkin and replaced her glass. It was getting low and her eyes scanned around for a real waitress to get them some more. She moved in the bench, pulling her legs up and pushing her back against the wall that had been to their right. “Lynx. That’s much more wild” A part of her, though small, had always loathed her cute and furry counterpart. She wished she could morph into something a little more edgy. “My parents were born shifters, so I have the gene.” She stated it proudly but not in the condescending way. “My brother shifts too. But I’m a wiccan, unlike my family.” She realized her sentence was getting lengthy. She tried to summarize. “So I’ve been working to alter my nature some.” It had been unsuccessful. Her face showed it all.
