I don't sell copies of anything I tape. I do a little trading with other tapers, and once in a while I give one away like this Exodus show. The CDR tree was free for all to join and receive the disc.
Plus, it's an audience recording... Certainly no replacement for an officially produced CD. It's just a little something for a few hardcore fans to chew on while they wait for the new album.
Thankfully, the market for packaged-and-sold bootlegs has pretty much vanished. It's really in the hands of the collectors now that the internet has hooked up so many people. I suppose someone could try to sell copies of this Exodus show, but now that it's been treed, who would buy it? These things bounce around pretty fast.
If anything, I say it's helping the band a little... Stir up a little shit ahead of the new album among collectors, who are also big ticket and CD buyers.
We talk a lot too.
