Shay, you said you were going to start Spruce Meadows Friday, so Kelsey is getting Tori ready today
*Kelsey walks out to the paddock and gets Tori. She brings the beautiful black thoroughbred in from the paddock and takes him to the indoor ring. She bridles him in the indoor and clips a lounge line to his bridle. Then she gives him a light workout on the lounge line before taking him into the barn. First she brings him to a grooming stall and uses the EquiVac to clean most of the dirt off of his black coat. Then she takes him into the wash stall through the special AG-Flex doors. The insulated clear plastic door kept the chilly winter air out of the heated wash stall. Kelsey turns on the water and waits for it to get warm, then she sprays the stallion's legs, slowly working up to his chest, neck and back. Then she gets the bucket with Vetrolin in it. She uses Tori's grooma currycomb to work the shampoo deep into his black coat. Then she rinses it off of him. Next she uses the bucket with Quic Color, using the grooma currycomb to work the shampoo into his black coat. She uses Quic Silver on his white socks. Then she rinses the coat enhancers off of Tori and gets the tear free baby shampoo out. She aims the hose, set on Mist, at Tori's face. He lowers his face, enjoying the gentle mist of water. Once his face is wet, Kelsey uses a small amount of the baby shampoo to wash his face with, then rinses it all off. Then she puts a clean cooler on Tori and rubs him dry with old towels. Once he is completely dry, she takes him back to the barn isle and gets out the clippers. She carefully clips his muzzle, legs and bridlepath. Once he is clipped, she gets out the pulling comb and pulls his mane. Tori dances and nips at her irritatedly, hating having his mane pulled. Once she is done, she leads him into his stall and hangs a haynet for him, then starts to braid his mane. An hour later, Tori's mane is prefectly braided. Kelsey takes the mounting block she had been standing on out of his stall. She puts his mane tamer on to protect the braids, then puts his winter blankets on. She dumps his grain into his feed bucket, then goes to the tack room and cleans all Tori's new tack, rubbing Lexol into it until it is soft. Then she puts all the tack into his new red tack trunk. The tack trunk had Just Victory embroidered across the top of the cushioned cover in fancy silver letters. Kelsey gets out all his shipping stuff, remembering that Shayla had planned on leaving early in the morning. Then Kelsey puts the tack trunk in front of his stall and goes over the checklist one more time. The checklist read:
Spare Halter
Spare Lead Ropes (with chains)
Saddle
Saddle pads
Girth (with girth cover on)
Bridle
Grain (1 scoop show horse formula, 1/4 scoop equine senior, 1 scoop biotin and 1 scoop flex per feeding)
Hay (3 flakes per feeding)
Water Buckets (2)
Feed Buckets
Tack Trunk
First Aid Kit
Stall Guards
Riding Clothes
Fancy Clothes
Barn Clothes
Crop
Spurs
Lunge Line
Lunge Whip
Tack Cleaning Kit
Once Tori's stuff is packed, Kelsey goes up to the house and packs her own things. First she packs all her riding clothes and puts them in the bottom of her suitcase. Then she gets out some fancy clothes, a plain black dress a pair of low heels and a delicate necklace and a pair of black dress pants and a black, tight fitting button down shirt. Then she packs her barn clothes, jeans, halter tops and sweatshirts. Once everything is packed, she puts it at the door and goes to bed........
