Re-do on Twinkle's Pic!" on 15:40:59 10/16/02 Wed Helen walked back to the house flipping through the mail. She set it on the table in the kitchen and sat down to sort it into piles for the different family members. Suzie had 2 post cards, a saddle seat magazine and a young rider. Jess had 3 post cards, a young rider & an equine magazine. Jacob had a letter & 2 eventing magazines. While Helen had several bills, invitations to some shows & 1 practical horsewoman magazine, a dover saddlery offer for wholesale tack for the tack shop & a few other magazines. Eric just had a few letters from old friends, a racing magazine & western magazine. “Well they do always send ALL the magazines on the same day don’t they” she muttered under her breath and carried the mail upstairs, except for the bills which she put in the office. Upstairs everyone’s door had a different color canvas bag on the door for the mail. Helen distributed it and then took hers into her and Eric’s room and sat down on the small sofa in the corner. She had barely picked up the first magazine when the phone on the small table beside her rang. She picked it up and said “Hello, Helen speaking”. “Oh hello darling” .Helen rolled her eyes slightly, it was her 2 year younger sister, Stephanie. Stephanie had always driven her crazy as a teen and it wasn’t much better now. “Hello Steph, how are you?” “well not to good you see hunter has been seeing another woman and our house is in uproar and….” Stephanie went on about the troubles she and her husband were having for almost 50 minutes. Until finally Helen interrupted and said. “Look….Steph it’s been nice talking to you, but can we please get to the point what do you want” Helen said in a polite and controlled voice. “Well you see… Elie isn’t doing to well with us getting divorced and fighting and all so I was wondering……” “Yes” Helen prompted “If she could come and stay with you for a month or so I’d really appreciate it” Helen paused…”well I guess so when will she come?” “In 3 days if that’s OK?” “yeah OK” “Thanx so much bye now” Steph said happily “Bye” Helen set down the phone and breathed deeply “Oh great, positively wonderful I get to take care of Elie for a month” she thought with a wry grin. She put this behind her and walked down stairs she heard the sound of a car in the driveway. It was Jacobs convertible. He walked into the house followed bye Jess & Suzie. They dumped their back packs on 1 of the armchairs. Jess flopped on the floor and several dogs jumped on her. Suzie sat on the couch next to Helen and let Lady come and sit next to her.
