 Alli grins and starts looking through her closet for the perfect outfit to wear to the dance. Jon barges in, without bothering to knock. "You have a date, I suppose." he said in an annoyed voice. "Yeah, what about you? Aren't you and Cassidy going?" Alli said in surprise. "She's not coming. She hasn't been around recently and I don't think she will be." He replied slowly. "Oh Jon! You don't mean you guys broke up!" Alli gasped. "Yeah. Things just weren't working out." he said. "You could go with Suzie! She doesn't have a date!" Alli said in excitement. “Suzie is Cassidy’s best friend. She wouldn’t want to go with me.” Jon stated. “Go call her and see.” Alli replied. Jon nodded and walked out of the room. Laura walked in wearing a khaki miniskirt and sparkly purple halter top. “Do you like it?” she asked, twirling around. “Yeah! I’m wearing this!” Alli gasped in excitement. She held out a sky blue halter dress that came almost to her knees. It was really pretty. “Looks good! Mikki will like it.” Laura replied kindly. They chatted and then walked out of the room. Meanwhile, Jon was dialing Suzie’s number. “Hello?” her voice said. “Hi, this is Jon. I was wondering. Do you want to go to the dance with me tomorrow night?” he replied nervously. It was hard to ask someone out so soon after going out with Cassidy. He did hope she would say yes though.
