Subject: Jersey Devil, or Scully Has A Date!

Is this ep the second one with Scully in the white hosiery? Wasn't she also wearing white hose in Conduit? Any way you look at it, big mistake. All I can say is, thank god she eventually stopped wearing those suits.

Too bad we never see Scully's good friend and godson again. Then again, after that horrible fix-up, I wouldn't be too anxious to call her. Was that guy self-obsessed, or what? Not to mention patronizing, with his comment to Scully about "you'll understand when you have kids of your own". Oh, she'll understand plenty then, buster.

Atlantic City is an ugly city. I've only been there once and that was years ago, but I was struck by the incredible poverty away from the boardwalk. I think that was captured well in this episode.

Was the Jersey Devil really beautiful, as Mulder said? She looked to me like she might smell kinda bad. And did he really think that drawing was solid evidence? (Then again, if I'd drawn it, it would have been a stick figure.)

Back to Scully (it's all about Scully!). For the first time, we see her as she struggles between wanting to have a life and being intrigued by Mulder's quest. No mention of crop circles yet, but we all know it's coming. Like in Squeeze, she makes a conscious decision to follow Mulder.
