Finally I have time to get online and reply...I can't believe how many people didn't like this episode. I loved it, but it made me cry! I think Scully did the only thing she thought she could to protect William, but I'm sure she'll get him back. At first I thought somehow the supersoldiers would kill his adoptive parents, but now I suspect his adoptive parents ARE supersoldiers themselves.

I loved DD's directing. I've seen few mentions of these details in posts here. The Scully-fixing-her-sock in the hallway, ceiling pencils, the "Joy to the World" (Jeremiah), and the couch view were great. If the subject wasn't so sad the shot of Scully, JD and MR on the couch would've been hilarious. Also Scully and Jeffrey weren't that close in the examination scenes, I'm sure it's just DD with the camera angles making it look that way. We must keep in mind that DD (and FS and CC) came up with the idea for this ep (although CC wrote the teleplay), so he may have been the one to come up with the adoption idea!

I didn't catch the white buffalo tie-in or the Row Your Boat Ashore/Moses tie in, but I'm sure they're important. I saw the flag at the beginning and was like, "WYOMING!" I think that's a first. I also liked JD doing push-ups. Whatta man:)
