Now I know who's voice that was--I just couldn't place it. I thought he was Krycek at first but something just wasn't right--the eyes were all wrong for both Mulder and Krycek. It just took a while to figure out who it was. When the DNA was similar, I sort of suspected but didn't want to believe that Spender and Mulder were half-brothers. As for the baby--he wouldn't have hurt him as William was his nephew as you said. Spender was used by his father, abused by the aliens as was Mulder and I firmly believe that he would do whatever it took to protect William. Maybe by injecting him with that stuff it would make William impossible to track by the aliens?

The Charles Scully thing--you have a good point there! I have a post above on my thoughts regarding the buffalo, etc.

As for CSM--we last saw him in lousy health. He had a metal (!) trach tube--most are plastic, and he had brain surgery to turn himself into a martyr--to carry the burden as he sort of put it. I wonder if the aliens have been playing around with him too!
