The October 1979 Lincolnshire Cruise featured (not in this order) Naples and Sorrento (no Pompeii as closed on Monday!), Istanbul, Izmir-Ephesus, Santorini and the greatest highlight among many highlights - Israel as seen on two days coach travel from Haifa. I know we (obviously) did the sights of Jerusalem and Bethlehem (and Nazareth?), I remember being told we were looking at the Plain of Armageddon. Then there was Tiberias by the Sea of Galilee and looking over the "Sea" to the Golan Heights. But what I really want to know is - which Kibbutz was it that allowed us to go to changing rooms, change into our bathing attire and go and swim in the Sea of Galilee; which I did and in that way saw shoals of the tiny cichlid fish and the pied kingfishers above us diving in to the water to grab them. I know it was about 35 degrees centigrade that day, despite the month, so my trunks were nearly dry by the time I had walked back to that changing room! Does anyone know which Kibbutz with a bathing place close to the shores of the "Sea" that could have been? I have tried various ways to find out and have even seen some pictures from an SS Uganda cruise that featured the Kibbutz - but no name is given. Can anyone help me out with this?
