 I was on the Gleed Girls Mediterranean Cruise of 1981. I remember waking up in Haifa to "The Israelites" song and riding a camel near the pyramids called "Bobby Charlton!" From memory we flew to Venice to board the ship and someone was flashed at in the streets of Venice which caused a commotion! My impressions were swimming in the Dead Sea, shopping in Limassol, Cyprus and going to a place in Greece where the Grammar School boys re-enacted a Shakespearean play in an amphiteatre. Korcula (in what was the old Yugoslavia) was so beautiful. I think the whole trip cost £350 and it was paid in £20 installments over a couple of years. The food was horrendous but we had a lot of fun even though we had to wear our school uniforms all the time.
