I was lucky enough to be able to join a cruise with Dumfries Academy, I think it was in 1968.
We flew to Venice on an ex British Eagle plane (I remember the logo on the seats.
The route was Venice, Dubrovnik, Piraeus, Tripoli, Lisbon, Southampton.
Looking back I still can't believe what a fantastic experience this was.
Tripoli was the best - I remember visiting some wonderful archeological site, Leptis Magna was one.
I was in a dormitory call Van der Post (yellow badge). I still remember the smell of disinfectant.
