I too was on this cruise from Longmeadow Girls school, Shard End, Birmingham. What a fantastic send off we had at Southampton as the first cruise to set sail after the awful Falklands war. I shall never forget that. Also remember John Craven being on board for a couple of days (which were the most choppy going through the Bay of Biscay and 80% of the ship's passengers were sea sick but I manged to not be!). It was my first experience of being abroad and shaped my love of travel and the mediterranean to this day (and I'm 50 this year). I was awe inspired by everywhere we visited.
