 Some great memories of the trip and some not so great like the force 9 gale in the Bay of Biscay, the disco was fun when the ship tilted and everyone was piled into a corner!
We had to drop an ill passenger on the outbound journey, a wander around a very hot Casablanca with offers of “Come, you buy here” and “ You smoke hashish?” A bottle of Coke at 16 shillings each!
Spectacular views of Tenerife and Madeira (I visited again in 2020).
Lisbon and the big statue, Cristo Rei, towered above us was also visited in 2020. I now live in Portugal so is ‘on the doorstep’.
Clearing out old stuff I have found some photographs from then and the signed Spew Bag. I’ll see if I can post pictures on FB but here’s some names from the bag...
Hazel Winnard, Jill Robinson, L Cook, Paddy Gorl, Jackie Knox, Christine Beck (DH5 xxx). Sone are not legible and some are from Dunstable Boys Grammar School where I was.
