 Memories, memories...
Left Tilbury and sailed up the North Sea, then through the Keil Canal to Travemunde and Keil. From there thro the Baltic to Leningrad, optional trip to Moscow, back to Leningrad then off to see the sights of Stockholm. Finally it was Copenhagen and Tivoli Gardens, and back to Blighty.

We were blessed with good weather all the way. Memories included being met by a Russian military band, the Russians throwing hundreds of badges at us when we departed. The Winter palace, and being told that to look at every exhibit for 10 secs would take 700 years. The Leningrad Youth Club in a palace, winning on a one armed bandit in Tivoli Gardens and being stuck with a pocket full of coins with holes in the middle. Spending the coins on a certain type of mag - they did the rounds in the dorms lol.

We had a great bunch from Downham Schools - my old friend actually married the girl he met on that cruise. Happy days and all for £50....
