I came across this board while watching a documentary on the Falkland Islands war. I went on line to see what British Ships were in the war, and saw the listing for the SS Uganda, which sparked my memory of my cruise during Christmas of 1975. Following the links I read about the Uganda and found this board. I am Canadian and went on the Educational tour with other students from various high schools in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. At the time I was in Grade 11. and was 16 at the time. It was a cruise from Athens to Greek islands, Israel, more Greek Islands, Scilly and finally Naples. I have very fond memories of this Cruise. From the various deck games, like tug of war to the crew performing Rindacella which was Cinderalla backwards (i recall it was hilarious). I remember being in the ships movie theatre which was full prior to leaving Athens, and nearly empty at the end of the movie as the ship had sailed during the movie. Which was the first indicator that I indeed have a cast iron stomach, as the subsequent years of my life have confirmed. Of course it would not have been a cruise with out the on board romance, which promptly ended back in the real world. This Cruise is what has started my life long travel bug be it to interesting places with in a days drive from where I happen to be living to a 3 month world tour. Thank you for this wonderful board.
