My father, George W Goodrich also served on the USS Botetourt and was present at the Tokyo Bay signing. Unfortunately, my father passed away in 1986 when I was 16. I lack considerabl knowledge of these events or his involvement. My husband just recently requested a copy of my father's Naval Service Record to assist in learning more about his involvement.
