I think boot at Sampson depended on the rate they were training for. My dad was there from 1June1943 to 21July1943 then he went to Bac. Station, NY NY. 3Nov1943 he was sitting in USNAAB Vicarage Barracks, Unit L, Navy 248, Plymouth Eng.
He was also at NRS, NY. NY. and RS, Pier 92, NY. Still looking for dates of these arrivals. Hopefully this expected new package from St Louis will have that info.
My Dad also spoke of a covert operation he volunteered for of which I forgot the code name for and can't find any info on it otherwise. It was a joint African mission with the English. Any info on that?
