 We are fostering a neutered male Pit that also thought kitties were snack food, we have four cats. The cats were terrified of him! A trick we discovered is keep a sport water bottle, the kind with the pull up top that shoots a good stream of water, and squirt him in the face telling him "No!". He now licks the cats in the face when he greets them. This also has worked extremely well on walks when he thought every dog & cat he saw was prey. He now allows strange dogs to approach to get acquainted without becoming defensive. As a last note he is up for adoption and we live in the Houston/Galveston area.
