 I recently rescued Buck, a 2 year old, 68lb, male pit bull mix from a kill shelter. When he first met my cats he was actually afraid of them! At the very least he did not know what to think of them. At first I was nervous, because I knew nothing of this dog's history - and I know how pits typically are around cats. He loves the cats now and regularly curls up with one in particular - who adores dogs. Buck has never shown aggression to any living thing. But I still come across ignorant people who tell me that he can and probably will turn on me any day now. Nothing irritates me more than stupid people! I have never met a more trustworthy dog than Buck.
