Interesting and I think I agree with what this guy is saying, but he doesn't really give me any factual info on WHY the current plans are "verging on a national disgrace". One COULD read his words and think "sour grapes" by a guy that didn't make the cut. -- ladyday, 08:46:07 07/24/02 Wed

You know, I agree that this architect wasn't invited to the party, and he's a bit miffed. I was trying to find something that explained the objection that some had to the rebuilding efforts. What I do understand is that many people don't want the financial and the commercial to overshadow the memorial for those who were lost on 9-11. -- Lafaux, 13:07:17 07/24/02 Wed

Well I have to admit I am worried about commercialism overshadowing the site as well. The WTC is like the Titanic, it should be left to rest in peace. There are still unfound people there and in a sense that is their resting place. I want something that is a tribute, but not a place where people will just go in and get coffee and do business like nothing has happened there. I have only been to Ground zero once and I know whatever is erected there, it will b ehard for me to enter there again. Thank you so much for posting the article Linda. -- Kammgirl, 15:59:27 07/24/02 Wed

ITA 100% with that Kammi. I can't even imagine who would want to go to work in a building (no matter who the architect) that stood on the site of the WTC. I mean would people convert Columbine High School into a dance hall? -- ladyday, 17:42:45 07/24/02 Wed
