Barn fresh GT 370 Rupp complete, original seat, Sachs air box, motor rolls over good, this is not a soap and water restoration but is a great candidate for restoration. sled is located in Bracebridge Ont. comes complete with a couple pounds of pigeon poo and baseball size bees nest ....asking $400 OBO

Items I am brining to Peterborough this weekend. -- Shawn, 21:43:17 11/18/09 Wed

Hi All.

Here is my list of items I am bring to Peterborough.
1973 Moto Ski Cadet. It is apart but need a hood and seat redo. The rest of the machine is really usable. And the motor turns over free with spark and a good muffler.
1974 Yamah SM 292 seat. The cover is tough but the foam and steal pieces as part of it are in good shape.
1975 Arctic Cat 500 twin motor. Comes with electronics and carbs and ran when taken out of sled.
2 other jag motors for parts!
1995 Polaris sprint hood, seat, fuel tank, front bumper, and 340 fan cooled motor.
1973 Sno-Jet sst rear grab handle or bumper
1973 Sno-Jet sst 295 cowl that goes over the carb and snaps down to the tunnel
1973 Sno-Jet tool kit that goes under the Carb cowl.
1973 Sno-Jet headlight cowl..complete with perfect headlight and mounting bracket.
197? Kolher single cylinder 295. Not sure what it came out of.

I will be adding to the list.

1972(?) Loman ATV.
The brochure says "Adventure is at your door with this mini-vehicle.." With running, correct CCW 225cc motor (not installed), needs restoration. Missing - engine cover, correct clutch, passenger seat base, windshield. Steel body tub, front and rear leaf springs, handlebars with hand throttle and brake, snowmobile motor and drive system (no reverse). Asking $400. .
I will have it at the Athens Old Snowmobile Show on the 21st of Nov.

How to test an external coil -- Steve, 20:11:59 11/16/09 Mon

I am fixing up a 73 sl292c, and don't have spark to the motor. I am suspecting the external coil, but before I go and spend money on one, can someone tell me a way to test the coil to be sure that is the problem? Should a simple continuity test through the coil prove if the coil is good or not? Thanks!

Ok, so I took the coil off, and put the ohm meter to it. Its measuring 6.08k from tip of spark plug wire to the wire connecting to the engine. Is this a good measurement? If so, then some of the responses I have received indicating its likely the points, is next on the list. Any advice on how to get to them on a 73 sl292c?

Ok so I found on the Yamaha website, that the external ignition coil should have a measurement of 1.6kOhm where mine is 2.1kOhm. So I'm not sure if that is too much of a variance to matter. Anyone know? Now it looks like I need to pull the flywheel off to get to the internal coils/points. Anyone done this on this motor before? Anything to watch out for (i.e parts, springs go flying etc)?

We're trying to get some of the Oldsledheads down to Constance Bay for this year's Old Sled Run to Quyon. So I need a date that doesn't conflict with one of the oval races.
At this time I'm looking at February 28th.
Could someone from the Oldsledheads get back to me to let me know how this works for you guys.

I just picked up a 73 sl292c, and am looking for the following parts:

- kill switch
- windshield
- carburetor boot
- carb kit for (CD38-32 Keihin)

Also, there is currently no spark in the motor, but the kill switch is broken. Any idea how to properly bypass the kill switch?

1972 Arctic Cat EXT roller. Was a twin cylinder sled when built but I don't know what size. It has a rusty tank, the windshield is missing and the seat cover has shrunk although the foam looks ok. The K-H master cylinder is also broken. It's not pretty but it's a pretty solid old cat. $850. Will deliver to the Peterborough show if sold.
