Well now we have been sent the papers and nominations for the June 8th AGM!

It seems like they are expecting an increase in the number of people attending as they expect more members to be visiting the resort and willing to attend the meeting.

Somehow I don't think so! Surely at that time of year there are likely to be more exchangees than owners?

I'm also surprised that one of the nominees for the Paradise Club has the audacity to say that he believes he provides a good link with owners. If so why no appearances on this site?

Overall it seems like CLC are simply trying to remove the owners from the so called democratic process of the AGM.

What do others think?

Totally agree with your comments re the nominee for the Election, won't be getting my vote thats for sure!. The CLC members site has a standing Vacation Club Committee member onboard who shares what information they can - so i don't see any reason why Paradise Committee reps can't do the same.

Unforunately i believe apathy amongst existing owners to the AGM and the General running of the Resorts(excluding those who contribute on here) has given CLC the perfect opportunity to move the Goalposts - i have attended 3 AGMs in the past under the old Paradise Group Banner and the attendance at these has been not much larger than the 50 or so who attended last years - which on the face of it from something like 10000 owner families ( thats what the old paradise advertising blurb used to say anyway)is pretty P**s Poor. As CLC said in the covering letter if only 50 people turn up, then they assume everybody is happy with the way they run things !!!

Anyway i await the Free Accomodation offer from CLC so that i attend the AGM.......

Thanks Badger.

I've just doen a quick search on the net and found that you could fly with Monarch on Tuesday 7th June for £43 plus taxes and return on Wednesday 8th at 20.10 for £36 plus taxes. You'd just have to sort out accommodation and taxi fares! So not much change from £100 to attend the AGM.

Strangely that is about the same price as traveling to London for the AGM from Birmingham - standard cheap day return is about £107! (Bham New Street to Potters Bar)

Funny old world isn't it?

>Hi I attended the AGM last year. What a waste of time questions asked e.g about the pool temperature were answered in an inconclusive way obviously still no money put in the meter as it is still cold, people there asked about not being able to pay fees basically tough luck no advice or help given alot were of a mature age and I felt it was quite sad and worrying for them and they proably walked away leaving CLC with their apartments for the flybyers it was quite frustrating. We voted for our representative not heard a dicky bird from him at all CLC just seem to do as they like with our resort I have not been told anything this year about our resort Our apartments have not been refurbished although we have paid each year from owning why are we all letting it happen? I see people year after year who own, they do not participate with the forum. Surely we must make some headway with CLC about our resort and our astronomic charges, but how. As anyone any answers, does anyone know or hear from our representatives are they still around who knows!

Angela you have hit the nail on the head.
You see owners each year but they dont participate in this forum, Why ?? Apathy, or do they not know about it.

As for the flybuyers the are crawling all over the resort, just what CLC want, lots of people to sell points to.

Refurbishment of the apartments is going to take years if as they say they are going to refurbish them all to CLC standard.

Just what is CLC standard, that depends on how many points you buy, at the moment at Paradise there are 3 different standards.

1. For the Vacation club owners with top range points.
2. For Vacation owners with mid range points.
3. For the rest of us, i.e. Points owners with basic points and the weeks owners.

CLC Points fall into 5 levels.
" Managementr fees
Bronze 400 - 750 points. 49p per point + £132 Mem fee
Silver 751 -1500 " 46p " " + "
Gold 1501 -2500 " 41p " " + "
Plat 2501 -4000 " 32p " " + "
Dia 4001 + " 28P " " + "
Sorry the chart doe's not come out very well but I am sure you can work it out.
As you can see from the above chart, the more points you own the better the accomodation and weeks you can aquire.

The less points you own, well it speaks for itself.

All e-mail offers are for vacation owners, never weeks owners, weeks owners must go through RCI if they wish to exchange???
So it is quite simple to see, CLC dont want weeks owners, they want everybody in thier points system.

Should be very interesting to see what comes out the AGM this year.
Owners reps, just how are they in contact with members, certainly not through this forum.

I would suggest that all owners that contribute and read this forum, spread the word about it and ask other owners they meet to put thier views on here and fill in a membership form.

Maybe then we would have a voice that owners reps would have to listen too.
