Hello Mike--- I can give you a little imput. The Diablo II dates back to about 1991. At this time Tesoro considered it the most powerful nuggetshooter that they ever made. I used one in western Nevada in the summer of '91 while kicking down several old dry wash piles north east of Winnemucca.

Simplemindedly I will say that it was Tesoro's update of the Diablo I and ran at about 20 kHz. Like the Diablo I it was a manual ground balance machine. It was a "pure" nugget shooter as it has no discrimination and the standard search coil was an elliptical 10-inch D for the "more mineralized"
areas where a corresponding-sized Concentric may be noisy.

It was not produced for very long; I suspect the "Original" Lobo (NOT the current LST) may have been more popular at this time as it also had discrimination. Several posters on this forum are using the Diablo II and seem to be satisfied with it.

For more "info," Lost Treasure may have a field test; or if you post on the Tesoro forum ask for Monte von Berry's input as he would be very knowlegeable regarding its performance.
