So, I'm watching Dr. Quinn "The First Circle" and it's irritating to me to see it. I wonder how in the Sam Hill (and I know it's acting but it happens in life all too often) how someone can be so arrogant about their skin tone. It's not like they made themselves white. grrrr. Smh. I had a black knee surgeon and when my mother met him after I had the surgery (I was 27) all of a sudden, he was incompetent, didn't know what he was talking about and I should have gone with the white surgeon. My mother and I didn't see eye to eye on a LOT of things. I was a bit of a rebel. In a good way though. But geez, to treat Robert E and Grace like that. To treat ANYONE like that just makes me furious. So, I came here to post. Good episode and I hope it made people think. I once asked a Klan member what he did to make himself white. Funny, I never got an answer. Duh. But hopefully he thought about it.

I think most of the men were racist. Unfortunately, that includes the Reverend.

I guess it surprises me still. I posted in one message about my mother understanding where prostitutes come from as far as the struggles they have but her one fault was she had a hard time getting past skin color. She eventually did when my sister lived with my friend Gordon who is black but man did she drive me crazy sometimes! We used to fight about how I would vote, if I would have black friends or not and things like that. Thank God she changed later in life.
