Can you use an adult pattern and size it down? Simplicity has a few jackets to choose from.

I'm sure theres a way to do that, however, I need something straightforward, ready to cut out and sew...Don't think I could alter down to a girls size. How hard would that be to do??? Never tried that before. I have seen nice ladies lined jacket patterns. Was hoping for a childs lined jacket

If you already have the pattern, just cut out another jacket and sleeves in the fabric you want to line it with.So you'll end up wiht the jacket cut out and the liner cut out for a total of 2 different fabrics. Satin, taffeta, etc. So you'll end up with two -jacket and liner. After you have sewn your jacket together, sew your liner just like you did for the jacket. You'll want to slip the liner right side out and the jacket inside out and pin and sew (hand sew) to the shoulder where the sleeves meet. And after you have hemmed the sleeves to the correct length, hem and hand baste the liner to the hem of the inside of the jacket sleeves. If you don't have a jacket pattern, I find lots of cute and stylish (vintage) patterns on ebay. If you can't find anything you like email me, I may have one you can have. HTH!

i found these cute interview outfits through the lizzie miguire (simplicity) and hillary duff (McCalls) collections. Just keep an open mind on the fabrics.
