In reply to: Sheryl 's message, "I know I can find help here! My dd has a banner she wants to wear, but must have spilled something on it some time ago. So I have an old stain on a satin banner. What can I clean it with?" on 18:06:52 04/12/09 Sun

My experience with satin is that when I tried to remove a stain I ended up with a water mark even bigger than my original stain. Ended up wetting and soaking the whole thing to even it out.

If you can identify what the stain is, post it and I can offer some suggestions. If not, I would reccomend a mild soap and cold water. After you spot clean it you will need to dip the whole thing to avoid the water mark issue discussed by the earlier poster.

If the stain is small, I would cover it up with a pageant related pin or other clever decor that isn't too obtrusive.
